VG Pit Mounted

Atwell VG pit mounted tension weight complete with a 300mm diameter pulley, 26 kilos weight, lockdown kit and slack rope switch.  This tension weight was designed for use with the drop jaw VG Overspeed Governor, hence the lighter weight.

Slimline Pit Mounted

The Slimline pit mounted tension weight comes with a 300mm pulley, 40kg weight, lockdown kit and slack rope switch as standard.  It can be supplied with either a 200mm, 250mm, 300mm or 315mm pulley, and can also benefit from additional weights to take the total to approximately 70kg.  We would recommend using the 70kg version with bi-directional VG safety gears.

PFB Rail Mounted

The R4 tension weight is supplied with a 25kg weight. We would recommend using a lockdown kit (SK8) when using this tension weight in conjuncture with VG safety gears.

This tension weight is available for use with 200mm, 300mm and 315mm pulleys as stock items, although other versions can be sourced on request.

PFB Pit Mounted

The R4V tension weight can be supplied with either a 30kg, 60kg or 104kg weight, taking the total weight to 41kg, 71kg or 115kg respectively.

This tension weight is available for use with 200mm, 250mm, 300mm and 315mm pulleys.

Gervall Rail Mounted

The tension weight is attached to the lift guide rail by means of a plate and three flanges, the pulley and the counterweight being suspended from this plate. The electric safety device is also attached to the plate at the bottom, and this will be activated in the event of the overspeed governor cable breaking or loosening.

The fastening plate has a number of slots to allow the necessary distance between the cable and the guide axis to be regulated, and also to fasten it to guides of various widths.

All tension weights have rope out protection and protection against stray objects regardless of being for overspeed governors with tripping in descent or bi-directional.

Gervall Pit Mounted

The spring pit mounted tension weight is designed for the activation of safety gears in both ascent and descent. The overspeed governor rope is tensed by the pulley’s two springs.

Cast Iron FG 25 pulley with two ball bearings, the pully includes ropeout protection and protection from stray objects. An electrical contact dwitch prevents the breaking or weakening of the governor rope.
